If a high PR site (say PR7) links to your PR5 site, I don't think the PR7 site gets a penalty, but if your PR5 site links to many PR2 sites, then yours probably does.

I didn't know linking to sites with a lower PR was a bad thing. Isn't it a golden SEO rule to get sites with a higher PR linking to you? I guess we should be happy that those "high PR" sites don't follow that rule (not linking to sites with a low PR)

I agree with the article, content is very important for getting search engine traffic. I believe that eventually, if not already, search engine algorithms will filter out any reduntant pages or auto-generated pages. Sites with 'real' quality content will move ahead.
